I’m Debbie Polturak. I facilitate a variety of courses at The
Life Rooms including crocheting and photography.
I enjoy encouraging members to find a creative means of
expression which can distract them from feeling anxious and alone.
My name is Chris Kirby and
I am a facilitator here at the Life Rooms and, as a
fitness instructor, I work on our fitness provision.
I love all kinds of music; I play the guitar and bass and a bit of ukulele.
I became a Learning Facilitator at the end of 2019, having previously
volunteered in various capacities for The Life Rooms and Mersey Care. I am
passionate about recovery and wellbeing. I’m a keen runner and I love a good pun! I
try to use my experiences of mental ill health to inform my facilitating and
to help others.
I am a Personal Trainer with personal experience of the amazing benefits
that physical exercise can have on my mental health. I have worked with a
wide range of clients and I love the feeling of helping people to overcome
their barriers to exercise, whether they are physical, mental or emotional.
Bringing activity to our lives has lots of benefits and opportunity. I look
forward to working with you.
I became a facilitator at The Life Rooms in May 2020, having
worked for Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust helping people to achieve their
potential whilst supporting wellbeing. I love a huge variety of music, especially experiencing live gigs. I love my football and I am a season ticket
holder. I am looking forward to meeting all new and existing Life Rooms members.
I
first used Life Rooms in 2016 as a student before volunteering in many roles at
Walton and across Mersey Care. I then became a Participation Support Worker
before gaining the role of Learning Facilitator. As a former service user, I
feel passionately about co-production, responding to people’s needs and
promoting hope and empowerment.
My role within the Life Rooms is that of the Vocational
Skills Facilitator. I can assist you onto your next stage whether that is
volunteering, further education or employment. I have been with the team for 6
years. In my spare time, my passions are: spending time with my family,
traveling, learning new things, walking and being eco-friendly.
Hi I’m Michelle and I’ve worked with
Life Rooms since the very beginning. I have lived experience of anxiety, bipolar
disorder and psychosis. I try to bring honesty to all of my sessions and
talk openly about my experiences, and how I work continuously to find
balance. I try to keep the courses relaxed, chatty and useful. Other
than that, I like long walks in nature with my dog and I love comedy. I'm looking forward to working with you.
HELLO!
I previously worked as a creative arts and photography
teacher for a very, very long time. I believe creativity can make a powerful
contribution to health and well-being. I have insight, experience and knowledge
of mental health and I find my role as a Learning facilitator to be very
rewarding and inspiring, and enjoy meeting new people at The Life Rooms. I’m
also allotment owner that produces mixed results.

Wouldn't it be a good idea to create a course?
